What a Day
Post Preface: You really need to read the 2 previous posts to make any sense of this one.
Ah what a day was yesterday! The Straw Raincoat Field Event (aka Knit-Out) exceeded my expectations. I joined hundreds of other knitters in the arena at Roppongi Hills and boy oh boy did we have some fun! I "waited the charge" for many a "Starback's" coffee and I wielded my "stick needles" with glee. I snapped photos of the "fashion show and performance of knit" and I admired the fabulously unique stuffed toys of a sexy man with a pony tail on top of his head. I think that I may have even tried to flirt with him just a tiny bit (in a very innocent I'm very married sort of way) although it was only afterwards that I realized that despite my best efforts at emitting an Sexy Earth Mother sort of aura, a drooling baby and leaking breast pads do not exactly scream "Come hither!"
I never did find out what "young chestnut thornback tar" meant but I'm thinking that maybe it was the name of the acapella group that performed at various times throughout the day. They wore funky knit caps to keep with the theme and sang Aretha Franklin's Respect no less than three times during the afternoon. I can just see them now during rehearsal as they discuss possible names for the group. "The Knitty Gritties"? Nah. "The Knit Down and Boogies"? Uh uh. I've got it! How about "The Young Chestnut Thornback Tars!!!"? "That's IT!!" screams the rest of the group with enthusiasm before starting up with yet another run through of Respect.
These pictures are: Lucy's bear bottom, a really cool penguin made by that cute pony tail man, and Nico riding the train home after a long day of being oogled by Japanese old ladies who like yarn.

Hey Anna! I just want to say, that when I have kids, will you make them all sorts of stuff. I just love them all. You will make good money thats for sure if you wanted to. My favorite is the onesie's you made. Of course it helps to have beautiful Nico modeling.

I love Nico's plaid lil' golfers hat (I don't know what else to call those kinds of hats) ~ adorable! and the pics of him and his first eating w/ Daddy - and you have bangs now?!? so brave! and so lucky! Looks very cute - I've been tempted, but haven't had the courage... I haven't had bangs since my horrible "wall of waves" bangs-phase in the late 80s.
